Nasty explores his highs and lows, the controversies that surrounded the world’s top-ranked player of 1973, and his lasting influence on the sport. Lovable, gifted, and generous — yet temperamental and provocative — Năstase broke tennis’s old etiquette with his showmanship and became its first rock star.

Directors Tudor Giurgiu, Cristian Pascariu & Tudor D. Popescu

Tudor Giurgiu, founder and president of the Transylvania International Film Festival (TIFF) and a member of the European Film Academy, has directed Love Sick (2006), Of Snails and Men (2012), and Why Me? (2015), among others. Cristian Pascariu is a director and screenwriter with multiple award-winning shorts to his name. Tudor D. Popescu, a filmmaker and lecturer at UNATC Bucharest, is known for his editing and multimedia work across film and music.
